My grandparents had this house with crazy patterned wall-to-wall carpeting. Upstairs it was red with some medallion design, and downstairs it was green. When I see my grandparents in my minds eye, the pattern of the carpet is always somewhere in the background.
My current paintings are about association of abstract /design elements with figures. I also paint abstract designs that remind me of past decades. Everything comes back into style eventually, right?
